So, you are not allowed out of your house for some time because of the COVID-19 pandemic and you’re probably wondering what you’ll do with yourself. Sure, there’s Netflix, Spotify, PlayStation, YouTube, TV, and the internet… so, you’re good to go, right? Well, maybe not because you’d be surprised how quickly you will become bored with those things.

Those forms of entertainment are things you probably do every day after work anyway. In other words, they’re already part of your routine and will quickly become boring during the lockdown. Yes, binging a show on Netflix is still a cool thing to do but with the following tips you will have something to do between your normal entertainment choices:

Online Casinos

Unfortunately, you can not get all dressed up and visit a traditional land-based casino. Luckily, you don’t have to thanks to venues like theedgepoker.com, where games such as poker, roulette, and slots come alive on your PC. No longer the preserve of the dedicated gambler, online casinos are now fully-fledged entertainment venues.

In recent years, casinos have been adopted by a wider range of people. Whether its social casino games on a smartphone or a proper gambling site online, casual gamers have become increasingly drawn to online casinos as an entertainment product. Bet safe and within your means and these venues can be tons of fun.

Do Some Art

Why not? Do you remember when you were younger, and your entertainment choices were fewer… you would turn to pencil and paper to kill some time. If you have any kind of creative juice, art is often the easiest way to embrace it. Whether it’s practicing your drawing skills or doing a deep dive and positioning yourself as the Monet of the 21st century.

Your skill level is largely irrelevant because if you get inspired art can be cathartic and a fantastic way to pass the time. It’s also affordable and easy. Want to combine art with a group activity? Play Pictionary (you don’t need the board game to play) and allow your family to join in with your artsy activities.

Play a Game

And that leads us to board games. Yes, your PlayStation or Xbox can provide hours of immersive gaming actions both online and off, and we definitely think video games can help during the lockdown. However, it’s sometimes nice to go old-school and break out a traditional board game. Again, this is a fantastic way to get all your family involved in your entertainment.

If you have a board game in your house, such as Monopoly, you’ll be surprised how entertaining playing it with loved ones is. Even if you don’t have a physical board game, many of the classics are now available on devices such as an iPad.

Honourable Mentions

While the three activities above are great alternatives to your streaming services and TV, they are not the only things you can do. For example, books are often the forgotten form of entertainment but are still an amazing way to pass time and take your mind off the real world. Perhaps you love cooking, take the time in your house to explore that recipe you’ve always wanted to tackle but never had the time.

The important thing is to think outside the box and not tie yourself down to a routine that can quickly become boring. Mix up your entertainment and you’ll find the lockdown will pass more smoothly. Another excellent time-wasting activity is learning an instrument. If you have an acoustic guitar in the corner staring at you as it gathers cobwebs, pick it up and use online lessons to improve your skills.
