The company has again come up with another best device, and this time it is One Plus 5T.

One Plus 5T was officially launched on November 21, 2017. This device will be sold under the brand name One Plus with model number 5T. It will arrive with Android 7.1.1 (Android Nougat) out of the box and will be topped with Oxygen OS 4.7 for a flawless user experience. One Plus’ 5T will support dual GSM-type SIMs. The SIMs compulsorily shall be nano-type to fit in the SIM tray. The device supports 4G (Indian bands), 3G, and 2G networks. Other features include a fingerprint sensor and dash charging (quick charging is referred to as dash charging by One Plus).
Design and Display
The height, width, and thickness of this device are 156.1 x 75 x 7.3 mm respectively. One Plus 5T is quite bulkier as compared to other devices as it weighs 162 grams. The device is built in all aluminum both on the front and back. There is only one color variant available for this device which is midnight black. The display on this device is 6.01 inches and supports a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. The pixel density of the display is 402 pixels per inch which are responsible for the crisp image quality with brighter colors. The display on One Plus 5T is Optic AMOLED type; it is one of the finest displays available in the market. The specialty of this display is that black looks more black, which means only required pixels light up and not all. To provide the finest of all displays, the finest of all protection is provided which is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. This device will work with capacitive touch and multi-touch allowed is up to 10 points. This model has a 79.62% screen-to-body ratio. Hence it is quite bulkier as mentioned before.
Performance and Storage
One Plus 5T arrives with the latest processor in the market which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 835MSM8998. It is an octa-core processor with Quad Core Kryo 280 clocked at 2.45GHz and Quad-core Kryo 280 clocked at 1.90GHz functioning together. It has a 64-bit architecture to enhance device performance and battery efficiency. Graphics on this device are handled by Adreno 540 GPU the top-rated Graphics Processor in the market. It can handle high-end games flawlessly without even a minor chance of lag. One of the best features of this device is its 8GB RAM, it is the best in class and multi-tasking is quite fast. Internal memory on this device is 128GB, and it can be expected that roughly 20GB is allocated for OS and system apps, but still, a user gets 100GB of memory. The memory on this device cannot be expanded. Apart from such heavy memory back there is an option to use USB OTG.
Camera and Battery
The rear camera on this device is not one, it’s a dual camera. The rear camera is a combination of 16MP + 20MP and is one of the best in the class resolution providing. The cameras are supported by an Exmor-RS CMOS sensor to capture sharp and crisp images with enough lighting. Phase detection autofocus on this device makes it possible to focus extremely fast. The aperture for the rear camera is f1.7. However, OIS isn’t supported. There is a dual LED flash provided to capture bright images at the night. Images are captured in resolution 4616 x 3464 and videos can be recorded in UHD at 30fps, full HD at 60fps, and HD at 120fps depending upon the user’s choice. The front camera is a 16MP shooter enabled with an Exmor RS sensor and an aperture of f2.0. The front camera can record videos in full HD at 30fps. It is powered by a 3300mAh battery which is the Li-polymer type and non-user replaceable. Dash charging is supported by the battery.
Network
One Plus 5T can work on 4G, 3G, and 2G on both slots provided that only one slot can connect to 4G at a time. Wi-Fi can be used to access wireless internet, and it is approved with standards 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n clocked at 5GHz. Bluetooth v5 can be used to pair with media devices, and GPS can be used for navigation. USB type C connection is used for charging and synchronization purposes. There is a 3.5mm headphone jack provided, unlike some other companies’ devices.
Verdict:
One Plus 5T price in India is marked at INR 38000, and surely it can be bought if the budget is extremely good. There shall be no second thoughts while buying this device. However, this model falls into the category of premium devices, and hence it may have to face many other models from the leading rivals in the market such as Samsung.
