iPhone X Diary: Video performance lags behind photo quality, but it still has one big advantage …

I didn’t take long to put the iPhone X camera to the test, writing last November that I considered its performance equivalent to a $ 500-600 camera.

In particular, I was blown away by its low-light performance. The hardware noise reduction does a stunning job. I’m completely blown away by the lack of noise […] That to me is truly stunning quality. There’s no visible grain at all. It’s well exposed (I didn’t adjust this at all). It’s sharp. The colors look great […] This is an absolutely remarkable perform…

Android Sage [Download] How to still install SABS Simple Ad-Blocker for Samsung Galaxy devices?

SABS gained a lot of popularity lately because of its stunning features. This is because SABS (Simple Ad-Blocker for Samsung) is a system-wide rootless Ad-Blocker and package disable available for free. It is just like Adhell (2), but with more stability and features. Unfortunately, the project was abandoned because Samsung didn’t like it. However, you can […]

H1Z1 Review: Still On The Ground Floor

Battle royale games have evolved rapidly in the past year with the likes of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite, but H1Z1’s early access version captured the magic of the last-person-standing shooter well before the genre’s current front-runners. With the official full release of H1Z1, however, it’s apparent that not enough has been done to help it stay in the larger conversation.

H1Z1 drops up to 150 players (solo, duos, or squads of five) on a sprawling rural map where small towns, gas stations, and campsites act as points of interest for loot. In traditional battle royale style, everyone starts with only the clothes on their backs and rushes to find the best weap…

I still hate email, but I love Canary

For Mac users, there exist no shortage of great email applications. If you’re keeping score, Newton, Spark, Polymail, and Airmail all deserve high marks. As a bit of a perpetual email client switcher, I’ve used all at one point or another and I think it’s really a preference at this point — so many great options exist. Windows users? Sorry, not so much. After plodding along happily switching from one to the other, and often back again, I was clued in to a relative newcomer that has since become my favorite: Canary. Canary is nice, PGP built in, and the&#8230…

Missing in Action: Xbox One X Enhanced Patches Were Still Waiting On

No doubt the Xbox One X has seen its fair share of titles optimised for the console, from Forza Motorspot 7 to Assassin’s Creed Origins to recent titles like Monster Hunter World. Call it a case of being a victim of your own success but the often stunning results mean that we want to see more Xbox One X patches. And soon. Even for titles that have no in-development enhancements in the works. …

February 2018 report: Are we still sinking?

Last month I published an article that wasn’t easy to write.

2017 was a tough year for Mac Gamer HQ and it made me seriously think about the future of the site more than once. It had tough moments and it was about time I opened up and shared everything with you. And in case you missed it, it was as bad as it sounds:

  • Google decided to penalize the site
  • The site lost 52% of traffic compared to 2016
  • Apple almost killed the little revenue the site makes

Is Homefront: The Revolution for Mac still happening?

Homefront: The Revolution for Mac was a reason to be excited. Unfortunately, the game slowly turned into a big disappointment…

This is particularly sad when you take into account how proud developer Dambuster Studio was to announce this back in April 2016:
