The infographic explains how games can be really helpful for children in creating the friendly learning environment which traditional books and methods fail to achieve for the contemporary generation of children. It can also be argued that nowadays children are grown up with the constant awareness of technology in their subconscious. This awareness makes them accustomed to using these technological gadgets for all sorts of activities whether those are fun activities or educational pursuits. Thus, restricting games only for pleasures and fun activities will deny them the right to be as much effective in educational fields as in any other area. This is why any people demand – and teachers are also included in this group, and it is confirmed by many teachers that when a digital content is used in the classroom, the attention of the children rises to 74% – that games should be included in the syllabus of children.

The reason behind this is that games engage children in a more friendly way, and children improve four important skills: these skills are problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and negotiation. “These are the most important skills that children will have to use in their practical life, and there are few traditional courses that are paying some attention to the importance of these courses,” says Kyle Ward, the Research Associate at Game Period.  Depending on the ages of the children, different games can be developed and incorporated in the regular syllabus. For instance, the most important thing for primary class children is that they learn the language first and then they would be able to learn other things, thus they should be given games of languages. On the other hand, the students of class six or seven must have some idea about the historical background, thus games for them must be developed keeping in mind this thing.

Playing games is a very healthy process, and according to Paul Howard Jones, when you play games, a special chemical called dopamine is produced in your brain, and this dopamine is helpful in many respects. For instance, its most important function is to develop connections between different neurons in your brain. Thus when these connections are developed, you are able to learn effectively, and your recall capacity also increases.

Another reason why games are appreciated more and more is because of the motivational boost they offer. It is a natural phenomenon that our motivation in things that we like most is higher than those that we don’t like. Thus, as children love playing games, they are always motivated to play, and we can use this motivational level for educational pursuits. Apart from different games, there are also different apps being made that focus more on the educational aspects instead of gameplay. Parents that are too much conscious or are worried that gaming will ruin the future of their children can use these apps.
