HDMI 2.1 Specification Released

Today the final specification for HDMI 2.1 has been released, and its capabilities are fairly impressive, especially if you are still using 1920×1080 displays and media. For comparison, the HDMI 2.0b spec allows for 4K video at 60 Hz and a bandwidth of 18 Gbps. This new spec supports up to 48 Gbps and this much bandwidth can be put to use for 4K at 120 Hz and 8K at 60 Hz without compression. With VESA DSC 1.2a compression, you can go as high as 10K at 120 Hz.
