Top 5 phones for 2013
With the introduction of 4G and competition in the handset market like never before, 2013 is set to be an event filled year for the mobile phone market. The big screens, quad core processers and improvements in the user interface are expected to dominate the market in 2013. Here, we predict the top 5 handsets that could be market leaders in 2013.
Apple iPhone 5S
The first pick will be the iPhone 5S. Even though people feel that the latest iPhone 5 has many flaws and there are not many improvements to it besides the bigger screen, it is still the most popular phone around. People have not hesitated in buying the iPhone 5 and this is expected to continue with the newer iPhone 5S. The iPhone 5S is expected to be launched in mid-2013.
It is expected that the phone will have an enhanced high definition screen, a massive 15 mega pixel camera, increased battery life, the new A6X processor which is much faster than the current processor and the iOS 7 operating system. Reports suggest that the iPhone 5S will be available in 6-7 colours instead of currently where it is only available in 2 colours.
Only time will tell as to what Apple has to offer. But it is sure that the phone will be as good as the latest iPhone 5 which has a sleek and better design, 4 inch retina display, a super-fast processor, the iOS 6 operating system and isight camera. It also comes with apps such as Siri, maps and iCloud.
Samsung Galaxy S4
My next pick would be the Samsung Galaxy 4. Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the biggest competitors of the iPhone 5 and is the best Android device currently available in the market. There are reports which say that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have features like 5 inch OLED screen, 12-13 mega pixel camera, Android 4.2 operating system with quad core processor, 3GB RAM, Android beam and an enhanced S-Voice. All these features will definitely make it onto the “must buy” list of a techno-freak.
Nokia Lumia 920
Nokia has launched the new Lumia 920 with the windows 8 operating system in a bid to regain its falling market share and to compete with iPhone and Android devices. It has an impressive 8.7 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens using PureView technology which clicks blur-free pictures and videos even when the camera is shaking. The phone has a Snapdragon processor which is a dual core 1.5 GHz processor. The 4.5 inch touch screen is bright, fast and sensitive which makes it a good touch screen. It is compatible with various apps and comes with a wireless charging feature. This will certainly be a big hit in the handset market in 2013.
RIM Blackberry 10
Research In Motion will be launching the Blackberry 10 in 2013. Reports suggest that the business phone maker will put its best foot forward to be back in the race with other smart phones. A major problem with Blackberry devices was the lack of compatible applications. An executive from RIM has promised that the Blackberry 10 will be launched with more than 70000 compatible applications. It is expected that this will be amongst the most popular phones among business people in 2013.
HTC Droid DNA
The HTC Droid DNA is another powerful Android device with a high resolution screen and a quad core processor. It has a 2.1 megapixel front camera and an 8 megapixel back camera. According to HTC, the design is inspired by Lamborghini supercars. It looks stunning and futuristic. Though it was been introduced in the US in November 2012, it may become a big hit in Europe in 2013 also.
